I will probably go lower once I get 2 new front tires.
I just F'd up my driver side one, I hit a bump on the freeway overpass and the tire tucked all the way in and caught my fender clip and ripped a chunk off the tire. Thinking of 215/40/18 or 205/40/18.

If I have those sizes I can go lower in the front, But the lowest part of my front lip is already only 2.5" from the ground.

^Yup. Dumping our platforms is a retarded idea. It looks cool, but you're screwing up the car more than others, because of how low our frame rails hang below the actual bodyline. I'd love to do it, but since the Solara is the newer and more reliable of my cars, I can't bring myself to do it at the moment.

I'd love to see a truly fitted Solara... I wish that I didn't dump all of my money into my 240 or I would give it a shot. Here is my test pipe to ground clearance on my 240 (driven 70 miles with partial downtown driving- a.k.a. crappy roads):

It can be done, you've just got to be smart, pay attention, and know where you can and cannot go without damaging the bottom of the car too bad. I should also note that I am considered mildly low in the 240 world and people commonly tell me to lower the front more, lol. In short- someone slap some 18x9.5 +15s on and rock it out!

Napster or toy1mz- how tall is that CL lip? As in how much lower does it make the front bumper hang

I'll have better pics up once they finalize the front springs. As for going with the Megans, I wasn't on coilovers before, just struts/springs. The opportunity to test fit and help develop a coilover set for our platforms arised, and I bit. There are already several solid choices for our choosing, but I wanted to see how low we can go without screwing up important drivetrain/suspension parts. I'm cool with the height my car is in my sig or even a bit lower, I'm just saying any lower than that, unless you're rocking 19s or something, is ludicrous. What more if you rock the TRD kit, it'll be gone in an instant.

Still trying to think what the final default spring rates will be. I started out at 6K f/4K r, and now at 8K f/4K r with a slightly shorter front spring. I'm hoping we can do 8K fronts that are about .75-1" shorter than what's on my car at this moment, and I'll give Megan the thumbs-up to mass-produce.

BTW, this kit will also work for Gen 3 & 4 Camrys/Avalons/ES300s as well. You'll just have the extra mount on the lower coilover bracket for the endlinks that only Gen 4 Cams/Gen 3 ES/Gen 1 Solaras utilized, since the front swaybars on the earlier cars mounted to the control arms instead.
