Rear brake caliper bracket busted! what's the part name?
So yesterday, I took my 2001 v6 solara to a buddy's shop to replace the rear brake pads, however when he was removing the caliper, one of the bolts snapped off the caliper bracket.
We took a look at this bracket, and the holes where two smooth bolts go were completely corroded, and one of the snapped bolts were stuck in there. After an hour or so, he finally got the bolt out, but we couldn't find any shop that had this "bracket" or bolt. Right now, my car is rigged with a shorter bolt into the bracket, while another bolt if screwed into the other side. Is it safe to drive like this?
Anyway, I was thinking of going to the dealer to get this fixed, but I know they're going to rape me. Does anyone know what the part is actually called so maybe we can do it for cheaper?
