Russian Guy, very nice post and I agree with most of it except you cannot get as much air through a flat filter with a 2 1/2 or 3" opening to it as you can a 360 degree cone at the end of a pipe. If you want proof, look at your flat filter after many hours of operation, you will see that almost all of the dirt collects right where that source of air comes from. That is where the majority of air comes in. The 360 degree cone truely takes air in all the way around. This concept was proven many years ago and has been used on many performance vehicles as long as I can remember ( a long time  ).

I like what you said about the air-flow and completely agree. I think Danny had a good design putting the air filter low and front then removing the fog light for forced air. I don't like the look but the concept is very sound. I agree completely with your assesment of moe's CAI. It is by far the best concept I've seen. I sure wish they'd pollish it up and sell it (hint hint).

As for XERD, I have asked MANY times if they could explain the concept to me or show me pics. I simply want to know where they intend to locate the filter. Some people call CAI simply pushing the filter (source of air) slightly further away from the engine itself but still in the engine compartment (colder air at best). Looking at the pics on the XERD web page, it doesn't look long enough to get it out of the engine compartment. I just want to know if I'm waiting for Cold Air or simply Colder Air. I am happy to wait and trust that they are doing the best they can and they'll let us know when it's ready. It's just that we've been waiting for SO long (not for XERD but for any CAI). -JoeB

Of corse, cone filter can take more air - but you can modify your air box to put it inside, because with this construction you will avoid a lot of dust to be inducted into the engine.

Usage of different constructions depends on the weather conditions. In Moscow I can't afford cone filter to be placed outside the airbox. After a week of usage I should clean it well to get the performance - thus I just put TRD filter in the stock airbox and I'm completely happy

...And people wonder why companies never make products for the Solara.

XERD may have screwed up in their dating but they are still trying very hard with their products. You guys obviously weren't around for the whole Cattman Fiasco where it was almost 2 years waiting for a CAI until even their prototype man (IcrazychrisI) gave up.

Just chill out and let things run their course. You are more than welcome to share your opinions but be aware that other companies do read this. We have 22 pages of useless bickering.

There are some valid points brought up and I'm glad danny and other people have made them, but just chill out. The more you bitch, the less likely we'll ever see an intake.

Be happy that they are very close on the headers

Yup, everyone wants to be a hard azz know it all. Like Yanks said, companies DO read these forums, but there are some kids that like to mess it up for the rest.
If you don't agree with some of these companies and their products, just keep it to yourself, at least they are trying to help!
I'm starting to kinda keep away from Solaraguy ,and some members have emailed me that have also felt the same way, it's these guys that come on once in-a-while and just log on to bitch- about other people's work... these kids really ruin it for the others (especially the ones that have been here for a while).

Hello,

I have been reading some of the posts and just wanted to let everyone know that it doesn't matter what people say or what attitude we are getting from some people, it really wont change anything.

We are making the parts, we will release the parts and whoever will want them will be able to purchase them.

By the end of this year all the products will already be released and you will have more parts available for your car. If these parts will do well we promise that we will not stop there and try to come out with even more products.

Have a good weekend everyone and i will post as soon as we get the headers.

Thanx, Eyal

I emailed Eyal a day or two ago and he said the headers should be in next week, and go out to customers in 1-2 weeks.

We are waiting for the smaller version on the intake (2.5" instead of the 3" we tested).

Once we will get it we will test it right away and let everyone know whats going on.

Sorry for the wait but we are backed up a little, trying to released 8 new products at the same time.

Just a little longer.

Thanx, Eyal

Update!

Yes, we are still alive.

I got confirmation today that the Headers are ready and being shipped to us tomorrow. The headers should be in sometime next week and will get installed on the car the same day and hopefully dynoed as well.

I will make a new post about it and of course have some new pictures to everyone.

Thanx, Eyal
