How much bump stop?

How much bump stop?

Postby nemoxfishy » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:16 pm

Quick question, quick answer please, as im sitting at the computer holding an exacto knife with my car jacked up outside WAITING FOR AN ANSWER

How much do you cut the bump stop on the rears?
I have Tein springs but I don't have the instructions!! Tein's site doesn't have it for the Solara either. HELP!

I searched but can only find results for the fronts, which is about 1" or half of its length. HOW ABOUT THE REARS?
Thanks!!

This may be too late, but here's a photo that's on the forum somewhere.

That's where I cut mine.

May I ask what is the purpose of cutting the bump stop?

+1, what is the reason? I didn't cut mine and it's all good.

Thx guys~!
the job is done!!

^Bump stops prevent your shocks from banging onto the chassis when you bottom out. However, with shorter aftermarket springs we will bottom out early if we don't cut the bump stops.

I think i had cut my bump stops in half and used the top half since it had a bigger base.
