^^ no, it's not that, at least, not what is happening to mine....
for me, it's similar, i'll be cruising, then i'll let off the gas and it's almost like i hear my car *sigh* (prob b/c of the intake and throttle body). the RPMs will drop about 300-400 for a second, then they'll rebound to where they should be for coasting.
i had my tranny replaced recently. it did this before and after the "new" tranny (67k miles) was installed on it (so it's not a tranny mechanical problem). the tranny mechanic said that the TPS was doing something strange: that the voltage would drop suddenly (like, from 1.5 to 1.1 or something) when your foot was removed from the gas, whereas everytime else the voltage would increase/decrease gradually.
it doesn't affect drivability, but because it doesn't do it all the time, it kinda bugs me too.
