eg: if your supercharger was giving you x amount of hp and y amount of torque with stock intake (cigarette smoker); it will then give you x amount of hp and y amount of torque with CAI (clean lungs). make sense?
basically like danny said the performance of your car will increase (gas milage, engine longivity, etc.) not necessarily the numbers.
hope i helped!

moe, great point about maximizing the benefits of the other mods. I believe you will see a small amount of hp increase from the CAI over the stock airbox though because it allows more air in. Of course the entire process is cyclical, taking more air in will reach a limit if you don't improve the exhaust and ability to burn. Because it takes in the same amount of air as a high performance short RAM intake, I would expect the numbers to be the same. Because it takes in more air than the stock air box, I think the numbers will go up (over stock). So when you add things like the S/C and exhaust the benefits of the intake are realized even more. However I don't think you'd see an increase over the short RAM intake during a dyno run, only when your engine compartment is closed and that short RAM mod is sucking hot air. Especially on a really warm day.
Danny, try to ignore the slams. Posts and opinions from people like you who REALLY know what they are doing is why I read and participate in these forums. I am DEFINITELY no mechanic and the little I know is from reading what knowlegable people post and the little experience I have gained over the last 40 years. Thanks! -JoeB
