I think what Danny was saying is that it won't give you much power gain on the dyno run. In a dyno run your car is stationary no moving air so the hood is up with a fan blowing in. With that, the heat is not being trapped under the hood as in normal driving. That gives both the short ram and the CAI similar air temps. The CAI is moved a little further away from heat producing engine parts so it is a very small advantage on dyno runs. So CAI should provide better seat HP
.
I really want to see the installed pics more than the dyno numbers. The pic of the product itself shows what looks to be a pipe that is just a little longer than the short ram intake. I want to be convinced that it TRULY is CAI. Where does the filter set? Is it TRULY getting COLD air? It looks like it keeps it almost in the same place, just moves it a little further to the front and down. I will wait for the installed pics. I've been waiting forever for CAI for my '99 as it is... A true CAI will move the source of the air to in the fender (then you should add vents for air induction preferably) or front low like what I think Danny was doing. This part didn't look long enough for either but I am hopefully optimistic and will wait a little longer!
I think Eyal has been pretty good about getting us info, these things do take time. I will be patient and appreciate the information as it comes. Not speaking for Eyal obviously (I couldn't if I wanted to
), but I believe he'll be fair and allow us time after the info is posted to access the info and make a purchasing decision. -JoeB
