^ Whats worse is from 65-80mph. It think it once took me 30 seconds to do that up a hill on the highway. Nearly got taken out, and poor King (Eye8Pussies) was following me.

how long you think it will take to replace both? Is it worth undertaking myself? I've spent too damn much time on this car already, might be willing to pay someone else to do it.

Good: I made 261 whp and 240 ft*lbs torque! Looks like the Supra MAF and injectors really paid off. The power feels very nice. AFR is at 12:1.

Bad: During 2 hour the drive home, I pulled 2 CEL's on my scangauge...PO 325 and PO 330. DAMNIT!!!

The tuners claimed they didn't have any CEL's during tuning and were very careful of the knock, but somehow I pull both knock sensor codes while doing 75 mph on the interestate.

I can't believe it, even with the 330 cc injectors, Supra MAF, Jim's fuel kit, Walbro 190 fuel pump, I still blew the knock sensors. :( Do I have any hope of it being a false reading, or should I just plan on installing both sensors. I was planning on taking the car home this weekend (8 hour drive), will it be ok if I still do? I'm in shock right now.

hey check ur pm...u can thank ASG14(Adam) for finding this.

U can still take ur car home...no worries, but with blown knock sensors...even if u go into boost, itll feel like the stock power it had.
just stay outa boost and ull be good to go.

Thanks a bunch for the ebay link...my only worry is buying used knock sensors. Not sure I wanna take that risk, especially with all the labor involved.

Another question, could an exhaust leak between my rear manifold and y-pipe cause enough "noise" to blow a knock sensor? I just blew the gasket on the rear manifold and wonder if that contributed at all...

im pretty sure they test it before sending it out.

and i highly doubt the gasket had anything to do with ur sensor blowing.

I STILL can't figure out why I blew 2 damn knock sensors @ 4PSI!!!! Still running on just 1.

And you have to remoce the intake manifold to get to the sensors. Set aside a day. And if you do it, replace both of the gaskets, as well as the coolant hose there.

Postby trd4life » Mon Jul 28, 2008 6:22 pm

Good to hear that MAF kit finally found a good home, i couldnt believe how much of a difference it made on my Red Knight ! 261whp very impressive that car must be a monster now with the new tune.Add a set of headers next. Oh and the ATS knock sensor upgrade is def. worth it.

Somebody here is selling the ATS sensor upgrade... powerwise, how much difference does it make?

Thanks soooo much Gabe! Sounds like you helped Shane out quite a bit, I really appreciate your generosity, still helping out years after your initial MAF sale!!!

...just figured I'd mention that I averaged 25 mpg this weekend traveling just over 1200 miles with 2 blown knock sensors. Mostly interstate @ 80 mph. Guess you could say I am pretty pleased to have 261 whp and still get 25 mpg!

Actually, I was getting 28 mpg (interstate) before the injectors and supra MAF...but I can handle losing 3 mpg with that power.
