Used JIC Coilovers

Used JIC Coilovers

Postby CamryOnBronze » Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:23 am

I am going to sell my current set of JIC coilovers to replace them with a brand new set. Basically the story is like this:

I purchased a set used on ebay for an incredible price- they had about 5k miles on them at the time. I have since put about 10k miles on the set, so around 15k miles total give or take. I hit a massive pothole about 2 months ago and the left front began to klunk, so I bought a set of coilovers from happy_aggies that had a blown right front and swapped his good front coilover in for mine.

This leaves me with the set on the car and the set that has 2 blown fronts in the garage. I am going to trade the blown ones in for a new set and sell these to cover some of the cost of the said trade in (which is $1100)

THE FACTS:
Okay, these are 5 way dampening adjustable with front pillowball mounts. Everything is there to be bolted on and replace your stock suspension. The setup has about 15k miles on it- however, I am not sure of the mileage of the left front, since it came off of happy_aggies' car.

I will say that there is some play in the front damper screws- they still work and can be adjusted, but they have developed some play. Because these are used and I dont know for sure the lifespan of the coils, I am going to start my asking price at $725 shipped.

To the best of my knowledge these are structurally sound and properly functioning coilovers- the ride is stiff and they can drop the car as low as you would ever want to go. I do just want to put out there that coilovers require servicing including damper changes from time to time and I just want to be honest with the buyer and let them know that these have some use on them. I am no selling because there is something wrong with these, I just have an opportunity to get a new set at a discount and clean the garage at the same time, so Im taking it while things are good financially for me (before school starts back up)

So again, $725 shipped OBO with the adjustment tools included. I will have pics up tonight or tomorrow- feel free to ask me any questions, thanks guys!

if you get new ones get the A2's or whatever model they have now that has inverted mono-tube design. I've had both yours and a custom set i've ordered and its a night and day difference. Less bounce and more controlled shock movement.

thanks for the info man- they told me that the coilovers they now offer for the solara are the FLT-TAR on the high end and the FLT-FAS for slightly cheaper, so we'll see...

If any of you guys are interested at all just let me know and we can work something out :)

here is a pic of the coils when I got them, updated pics will be up soon:

Good price , I just sold my teins, cuz I upgraded to FL-TAR's..

The monotube design allows for a nice and firm, yet supple ride.

I have mine set to +5, which means I have 10 more levels to go, LOL
the drop is adequate, I could go lower, but not in NYC...

Now Im off to check on the damned clunk noise coming from the passenger side rear, lubed the RSB (TRD), and it got better, Im thinking its my trailing arm bushings.... which I have sitting in my room. :(

so BUMPETY BUMP BUMP..... someone pick these up!
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

i just contacted them recently and a damper is $280, thats if you install it yourself, so that gives you an idea if you need dampers down the road. The fronts seem to see a lot more stress than the rears from my experience.

The ride is very firm for sure, but i got used to it and ended up really liking it. The coils admittedly do not look as good now as they did in that pic due to corrosion, but they have never seen salt or snow. I will have current pics up tomorrow. PMs replied to, thanks for the interest and bumps fellas!
