Seems easy enough but when i took it to my mechanic he told me i needed to take the cross member out and jack it and replace the unit there after? but thanx i just need to buy some stands i heard theyy got a sale at autozone fro them lol
mine was a solara 99 V6, as soon as you put the car on jack, the rear control arm drops a bit along with the wheels, giving enough room to slide the charcoal canister out from the passenger side rear, it is held by 2 of 14mm bolt, use 1/2" socket with swing head adaptor and a 8" or 12" extension, some sort of eye shields, label where each hoses and wire goes for re-installation, i am telling u because i did it myself that way for P0441 and P0446 error without touching the any rear control arm. took me a little over an hour, and i had a back pain next day. but i no longer have the CEL.
my guess is if the shop were to do it, the put it on lift, and once they remove the control arms, they will have plenty of room, but i rather not touch those control arm myself, i believe they are also for alignment, if you take them off, probably need to check alignment awell, another $60 at least .
