all mufflers I believe require a gasket, at least one. where the muffler and piping meet.
I dont remember if I needed one when I installed my trd muffler originally when I used to have it, but I think i used one. for my evo2, it required 2 gaskets.

It should just be a direct swap

i just installed my TRD muffler and i bought the wrong gasket so just used the old original one..
also it MAy not fit exactly ..so some adjustments may needed to be made, i had fitment issues, so the local muffler guy just charged me 30 bucks to re solder the safety pins and make sure it didnt touch my rear skirt which can melt if too close. its worth taking to a shop tp be installed correctly if you dont have a hydraulic lift..i dont.

it look and sounds 100x better. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

i have a gen 2, so its possible that i might have a better fitting since you are a gen one and if you have a body kit etc, the trd muffler comes ready to bolt on directly, so i dont know, i could be wrong about the previous statement, dont take it to heart, so i will be nstalling the muffler tomorrow and we will see what happens, if you have any suggesstions please write it

i accept all considerations, about the install and fitment, anything, let me know

I have a Greddy Evo exhaust, and it required 2 gaskets.
As of now i'm runnin' 1 gasket, the other one cumbled in my hand when i too the axle-back part to polish the canister......

Installation is very easy. You do not need a lift. The toughest part is getting the supports out of the rubber bushings. (Use lube spray and a pair of channel lock pliers.)

As for the gasket: Buy RTV sealant from the auto parts store. I like copper but it's overkill for this temperature. Apply it to both sides of the old gasket and a nice bead. Join the pipes and tighten evenly.

You shouldn't have a leak.

you must unscrew the hanger bolts and take the rubber part of from the car and then separate them while you have the muffler in your hand, at least thats what i did

I just pulled REALLY hard. Oh, and I had a second person to help me too, just made the whole thing easier. My friend held the rubber, and I pulled the muffler off.

So yea, two people isn't necessary, but it speeds up the whole process. Then again, having two people while doing anything usually speeds things up.

if you doing directly swapping TRD muffler
no gas ket is needed.
actually, u need it, but then, if you look carefully on the stock piping,
the gas ket is sealed on it.

but then if u doing some other aftermarket muffler
the shop will probably chop off ur orginal pip and moutn the new one
in that case, u need a case ket
