Battery terminal cable replacement
How in the world are these things replaced in Solaras? I've looked around there and my positive has 3 cables running to two connectors. One really big one (4AWG I think) and two smaller ones that run to one connector (7AWG I would guess) and one of the smaller ones broke a few months ago, so I fixed it with some extra wire and tape to hold till I got new cables. It seemed to hold well so I left it alone for a while. Well I don't know if it was my subs vibrations or the road rattle, but this has come lose and I just figured that out today. I used a new piece of wire, got new battery terminal cables from autozone and I want to install them if the piece I made doesn't hold up. The negative has 2 wires, one that looks like it runs on top of the tranny and the other mounts under the battery for a ground. Positive... the big one runs to the starter and the 2 smaller ones run under battery and to the right of the battery they go underneath that fuse box. Now the new cables are just one single cable each. And they both have this little (10AWG maybe) cable with a butt splice on it, each cable has that coming off the terminal connector. WTF do I do! I need to get my car fixed. It was going haywire today! All the lights on my cluster went on and my stereo kept turning on and off and then my car (auto) stalled! So it seems fine now, but I want it resolved. I have searched for like 20 minutes for a Tut, and can't find one. So any help at all is very appreciated.
