Removing Resonator

crazy chris claims that he's gained HP by just removing the resonator. im kinda hesitant to do this... any comments? feedback?

are we talkin bout the resonator in the airbox or the one on the exhaust?

The resonator from the airbox, not exhaust. All that does is reduce weight and cause your airbox to be more audible.

woaaa...i dont know about removing the resonator from the air box...i removed my resonator from my exhaust piping and lost alot of back pressure i literally reinstalled a custom resonator to regain that back pressure...i would leave resonators the way they are supposed to be...L8r moe :evilbat:

The only disadvantage is more noise.

i jsut did it, i couldnt tell a difference in noise or performance. its all good though, took off about 1 pound of weight and its getting colder air...i guess mentally, it feels better... o well

how did u seal up the hole going into the throttle?

i didnt take out the whole intake, just the resonator located by the fog lights

can you post instructions on how to do this?
(and if possible explain how this results in colder air)

1. Take off front left wheel
2. Remove all screws holding that plastic trim thing from your foglights to the whole wheel well
3. Unscrew the resonator box(white box) from your intake box
4. Put everything back together

The way I see it, with that box now gone, all the air that was being blocked for sound suppression is now leading into your intake. The intake resonator is connected to a black tube which has 3 holes on it. One pointing towards the front of the car, one connected to the air box, and the third connecting to the resonator box. But thats how I see it, maybe you might still argue that it just adds more noise. I see it as, an intake w/o the drone.
