What solder? I hope you didn't solder that stuff. The clamp-ons work great and then you can just deal w/ blade connections forever more.
Anyway... I do the domino method. My service guys were digging it. I reverted when I went in for the ECU flash, but left it for everything else this year. If you do the install with reverting in mind (tag hoses, tie off a couple things instead of removing, take a couple stock pics) then it's a 15 min. job for either intake.
For the cp-e customizer box, you just bypass it by reconnecting one wire. Other than that, you leave it tucked in the glove box. I don't recommend running with the stock airbox and customizer hooked up. You'll be way rich. And most impportantly,
NEVER run the 3.5" pipe without the customizer. You'll burn up running way lean.
