Toyota Oil Filters! Damn them!
During my first oil change I noticed that the original oil filter is made in japan and looks way different than the toyota filter I picked up at the dealership. The dealership filter is made in USA. I found out that there are 3 different "toyota" oil filters. Japanese OEM (best besides TRD), one that's made is thailand, and one made in the USA (by purolator I think). WTF?
Does anyone know of an online place that sells the japanese made filters? Bulk purchase or otherwise. If not, I think I'll get the TRD filters. It seems strange that I was told by toyota and the dealership to only use toyota oil filters when there are 3 distinctly different types out there all made by different companies! Patented drain back valve my ass.
