And I would expect Toyota will release both, because the fact is their are more customers having the problems with Toyota's then Lexus's, since thier are more Toyota's on the road then Lexus's. Just my opinion, I could be worng.
You pay about 30K for a fully loaded Solara... you pay around 40K for a fully loaded ES (44+ for RX)
Would Toyota tend to their luxury guests that expect more from a brand (retain brand loyalty) or the mass population (Toyota) which has the mass population...
Since the software is different, as I previously stated, the reprogramming is different. Would you rather have Toyota release some new quick fix software that sort of helps then release the full one? I bet you would... realistically, it won't happen. If that were to happen, the dealer would be paid twice for the same job... and the problems per 100 vehicles count goes up and the dependability goes down based on a small problem.
The only car they have done "step" upgrades on is the LS 430... the transmission program has been updated 2 or 3 times.
Right now, Lexus is #4 (Acura, Honda, Toyota, Lexus) in least problems per 100 vehicles due to the amounts of voluntary recalls in the past year and "dumb warranty" stuff (windshields... tires... guy that spills coffee on seat...) and keeps the peak at guest satisfaction.
Do what another member said... put the car in "manual" mode and leave in on 5... that way you can use all 5 gears and the "hesitation" is gone.
