I am thinking about getting a remote start (too lazy in the winter). I just want to know where do you get it done with the lowest price?

i know circuit city and best buy do install remote start alarm.
the price starts from 399 up to 649...
depense on the alarm model and how many options u wanna add.

i dont see ur location on ur profile.
if u live in south california, i know there is a very good store.
reasonable price (much cheaper than circuit and bestbuy) and good skill~
PM me if u wanan know the detail.

After my horrible experience with the Shitttiest car starter that cost over $400 total and is STILL a pain in my a$$ to this day...My only advice is to just make sure you go to a reputable place/person that you know does a decent installation. If I could do it over I would have just gone to best buy or circuit city, it would have been cheaper and at least I know they do more correctly than f*cked up.

Pardon my lady-like French  To this day my car starter is a thorn in my side every single morning.

I agree with you 100%. Take it to a professional place that warranties their work. I've always taken my stuff to Circuit City, but a while back I had Prestige APS996A car alarm installed on two of my cars and the place that I took it to didn't deal with it on a daily basis. Then to find out, they outsourced the labor work, which ended up causing me more headaches. It was too much hassle and I had to work around their hours and they didn't work on the weekends or after 5 pm.

The install was so-so, the guy never installed that model or brand and it took forever and a day. In the end, I was still not happy with the optional features that I requested.

I had the basic remote start, passive alarm, trunk release and door. But I wanted auto up and down when the car was off and when the car was on as well. The auto up/down was only on the driver side and not the passenger side. It was just a big mess, the guy wanted to charge me more to have that feature installed.

In the end, I got the auto up and down only when the car was off. I could basically auto up and down (individually, one side up/down at at time) my windows to entertain my friends or peeps walking by...lol.

Any who, I didn't get what I originally wanted, so I told the guy and they ordered me this other relay. I didn't take it back to the original installer. Instead I took it to cc and they charged me 45 bux and reworked all that bs wiring. I'm very, very happy with my alarm now. I have auto up and down on the passenger side. Also, I can crack the windows and they both automate (roll up and down) at the same time.

The shop assistant manager at cc did all the work on my ride and he was very professional. The best part was that they worked around my hours and the workmanship is warranted!

Do not try to get someone to do it on the side to save 25 or 50 bux, because in the long run you will regret it.

p.s. Here's the original thread for my alarm.

um... sorry, not familar with that place...
i guess it's better to go bestbuy or circuitcity...
cause i know if that thing install incorrectly, it can mess up ur VSC w/ TCS controller.
some side airbag warning sign might come up too when remote start engine.

so, watch out with that, make sure u go place where u trust those professionals.

When I was living in Portland, OR, I had a '95 Mazda MX-3 and I took it to Car Toys to have a basic alarm installed and it was $300, which was way too much for what I had gotten.

Just don't let them rip you off, shop around, but always keep in mind to pay more for a professional job versus crappy...

Good luck,

I'm having my installer transplant the DEI Valet 562T Remote Car Starter with Keyless Entry from my outgoing 2003 Sequoia to my new 2006 Solara SLE V6. I have to call him Monday about the truk release to make sure he hs the parts.

Nice system, remote starts up to a 1/4 mile away.

I have been wanting to install a remote starter on my own for a while but don't want to screw anything up. Does anyone have any pics of their install?
