How did you go about this break-in test? If you pounded your windshield, nothings gonna happen because the stock alarm does not have a shock sensor. However, Toyota does have an add-on for the car.
Why not just get an aftermarket alarm? Remote start, both windows auto up and down, starter kill, two way paging, etc.

2. (being outside the car) arm your car
3. (wait 30 seconds) and then reach in thru the open window and open the locks from inside the car...
4. Turn off alarm (note if alarm didn't go off....your SOL!).
^^^As for testing the alarm, do what Jai said.^^^
Just arm your car with the windows down and wait and reach inside the car and manually unlock and your horn should go off....quite annoying.
