Nice, that fatboy really makes a presence. I may have to finally make this upgrade as well.

BTW, how is your oil catch can mounted to the intake? That location seems to work out well.

Thanks.
I would do it ASAP, i didn't feel like re-oilin' the AFE filter after a week....

I have 2 allen bolts that fit the thread of the oil catch can, and then i have metal washers on the allen bolt head side [on the air filter side], and then between the CP-E divider.

^^^ ORIGINAL THREAD for the "noobs"...

Sooo pleased, am I, to see others take to heart, this augmentation... and explore it on their own machines alike. Considering our motors are over-glorified "air-pumps", it stands to reason honking-off with a big schnoz should allow for freer breathing. (Kinda like a "breath-rite" nasal strip for the car?) I hope you have all found some merit in it's inception on your vehicles. I suspect any favor is incremental, at best, and a matter of degree that is greater measured in sentiment than in fact... nonetheless, I had a blast making the swap, posting the pictorial... rich in anecdote, and seeing a lasting response! :D

Personally, I like the improved (deeper, richer, less "nasal") intake sound, and the WFO roar, throughout the escalation when pulling-out the gears... and the DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED durability, (spelled: LESS MAINTENANCE), as well as what MY figmental imagination says is better performance, as well. (IMPERCEIVABLE in flat-out measurable differences, perhaps, but AURALLY and in RESPONSE, a better proposition, I think.)

Seriously guys, I'm pretty sure it is not a NEGATIVE move, and all signs seem to point to a thumbs-up on this one!

(Has anyone found the mod a "poor" choice, or "not-recommended" for some reason? I wouldn't want to promote something that doesn't work in some cases!)

My sincere "THANKS" for those who carry on the tradition and post their crisperiences for us all to share.

"crispone" Thanks for the input. :D
When the AFE filter was dryin' out i wasn't able to hear my intake whistle as much.
So i'm lovin' the K&N air filter.
