So i got my INJEN intake in (installed by Toyota), and thought i should share the results here. I beleive the end cost was around 450-500 dollars for: Injen intake ($200?), install (done by Toyota), oil change, and car wash.

I am extremely happy with the sound it makes, it was worth every penny.

Ya i know, but my dad wanted it to be professionally done by a Toyota dealer, so if there are any problems with the car, and they try to blame it on the cold air intake, we have the leverage of saying/proving that they did it.
Plus its not my money, im 17 and my dad has paid for my car, the gas, and all the mods I have done to it.

WOW... :o Consider yourself lucky. I'm 16, had to pay for my own car, gas, and all the mods I'm doing to it.At least I have someone close to my age hanging around here.

Ya i know im very lucky to have him pay for all that, he just remembers being a kid (his dad had alot of money) and his dad would not pay for the car or anything on his 1966 GTO.

But honestly id rather be paying for it and have it be legally mine... just a pride of ownership thing, plus parents are divorced and he wont let me take it to my moms house, so if i want to use my moms truck (during week) i have to drive her to and from work, pick up & drop off my bro from daycare, and drive my sister wherever she needs.

There are 3 times (300zx, STI, Yukon) where i have seriously tried to buy my own car, but my parents made me back out of it for whatever their reasons were (they really just didnt want me having too much freedom)

Not trying to complain about my solara, i love that thing and feel very blessed to be able to drive it.

^^ haha, my dad really dosen't care too much about me having a lot of freedom, there just a lot of mods that he won't let me do. He is a car dealer and thinks he knows everything about cars (which he actually kinda does lol) so there are quite a few mods he won't let me do like HIDs, SRIs, tinted tails, tinted windows etc, etc. Ill be glad to go off to college and do whatever I want to it...

I understand tinted tails, but thats about it haha. We always put limo tint on our cars, and all of my dads cars have aftermarket air intake systems. Im not sure why he did so much to my car, but im glad he did :)

Sounds like his dad was a smart man teaching him the value of a dollar.

most ive gotten from highway doing 80 (for about 400 miles) was around 34-35mpg
but for daily i only really noticed a 1-2mpg gain (i drive in ALOT of la traffic)
its good for highway though

But thats only if you can resist the temptation of hearing the growl of the intake, though it does make the engine more efficient, its hard not to let the engine rev high to hear it!

so most people only get better gas after a couple months ;)
