So I e-mailed bling lights and got this sweet response. Just cut a hole and attach ha ha ha.

Dear blinglightshid,

I was wondering if you had a picture of the actual intake for the solara because the one pictured in the auction has no MAF sensor fitting and will not work.

Hi

The photo in the listing is the actual intake system for sale. There are 2 ways you can install the Mass Air Flow Sensor. The first way is by purchasing an MAF sensor adapter (not included as stated in auction). This can be purchased at any local autozone or pep boys and is usually inexpensive. The second method which some of our customers have used is the following...

You can connect your MAF sensor or any other air tubes to our intake. Our intake includes a rubber collar that connects our intake pipe to what is left of the stock intake pipe along with 2 adjustable O-rings. Just cut an "x" into the middle of this rubber collar and push your MAF airsensor into that slit. Just make the "x" cut large enough to feed the sensor in but not any larger. Once the sensor is in place use a piece of electrical tape to hold it down so it does not come loose. The MAF sensor must be facing the same direction it was facing when hooked up to your stock intake and you are all set. Hope this helps, please email me with any other questions. thx

^^HAHAHA, use electrical tape to hold down the MAF!
Will not void warranty, what would a dealership say if they saw your MAF being held on by electrical tape???

We will not sell an air intake that does not provide a measured increase in horsepower and torque (acceleration). Our air intakes are proven to increase horsepower and torque on a rear-wheel dynamometer (think treadmill for cars). These thoroughly engineered air intakes provide huge increases in power that a customer will definitely feel when they accelerate. BlingLights is known to prove performance!

Words cannot describe that statement, especially the last sentence.... The hat looks like better quality than the intake.

Well I responded back could not help my self. I really hope they take down the listing before an innocent Solara owner goofballs up his car.

Cut a hole in the rubber adapter? Are you serious or did someone hijack your ebay account? Common the MAF needs a particular diameter pipe to read signals correctly. In the Solara's case it needs 2.75 inches or the MAF signal will be wrong and the car will lean out too much. besides the solara's MAF is about 3.5 inches long at the shortest point and there is no way the rubber adapter could fit it. Also no auto parts store carries an adapter, the only company that makes an adapter is HKS and that is for GEN 1 and 1.5 only. You really should put this on the page for these intakes. I cannot even believe you account was not hijacked when you suggest taping a sensor in place it boggles the mind how irresponsible that would be to the consumer. In case you are curious they is what you are suggesting I slip into a rubber boot.

Thanks for your time and I truly hope someone was playing a joke on me with your account.

Wow one thing I will say for them is they do respond FAST but they don't listen or care.

Most customers purchase the adapter or customize the pipe to install it. The autoparts stores do carry these adapter. Spectre also makes them and most autozones and pep boys carry the spectre maf sensor adapters. We have had customers purchase this adapters and install our intake and it worked out okay.

And wtf is up with an install at a stereo shop

Can I Install and Maintain the Intake Myself? The kit isn't complicated too install for most applications, and the work can be done in your driveway with simple hand tools in about an hour. We recommend to have the kit installed at stereo shop if you are uncomfortable installing on your own. If you do it yourself, you will need a wrench, a ratchet, and a screwdriver. Every 50,000 miles clean the filter with filter cleaner found at your local auto shop. No need to ever replace the filter.
