Hey everyone, I'm installing the headers on my 4cyl Solara on Friday in Auto. I need a tut or some help (pics are great!) that would help/guide me through the install. Thanks to all, I did search too :).

I'm not sure exactly what brand they are. I thought they were but aparently not now. Where's i20solara02i when you need him to answer questions lol!

So I just unbolt the headers and bolt new ones on? Is there any required torque or anything important that I need to know, because I just want to make sure I do this right :).

Thanks for the info on the headers guys. The day actually got postponed to Monday (arggg!) and so I'll be installing them then. I already got the O2 simulator and I have a good idea on how the install it. The only thing I don't know is that I think I'm supposed to solder them on differntly or something? I think I heard the red goes to the white or something? Some wire goes to a different wire than it should be or the system throws a code, is that right? More info on that would be great, thanks!

Tacti has headers on his Gen 4cyl. Contact him or search for his posts.

Warning, once you lose that front cat, your ride will be significantly louder.

Thanks for thatr little bit of advice phreakd.

A question on the O2 simulator: should I install that today or will I have time to do it tomorrow in Auto class? I only have 2 hours to work and I'm not sure how much time it takes to swap headers. I just don't want the system to throw a code because I don't do too well with the handheld electronics in that class . Is there any downside if I install the O2 simulator a day early, because I'll only be driving my car 3 miles total by the time I put on the headers.

Here you go:

No wait I'm thinking of King Tut. To install everything in the same day, it might take longer than 2 hours, including the time it takes to cool off since exhaust headers get bitchin' hot. Besides, the code reader is as simple as plugging it into the port and let it read it itself.

Ok, thanks for the advice on time. I won't have to worry about heat because I don't have Auto 3 until 1st hour and Seminary is A Hour. An hour for it to cool down should be fine, right?

As for installing the O2 simulator early, thanks for that advice. I think I'll try it today where I have a lot of free time rather than mess with it when I install the headers.

Well, to start off Auto 3 we tore apart a trailer, which was very fun. We'll be doing stuff like this for a few days, so I'll get pics when I actually get a chance to install the headers lol!

I'm installing the O2 Simulator and I need help RIGHT NOW! That tut you gave me is very acurate and I have everything apart right now. The only problem is the diagram was for a 1998 Solara and mine's a 2006! I don't have E7 pin 18. Where can I find a wiring diagram that will help and what pin# do I need?

If you have time right now PM me a phone # if possible. Help would be appreciated right now!
