Doing rebuild... Want good pistons... Where?

Postby Slut » Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:13 pm

Ive been searchin the forum.. not many people have rebuilt i see.. I rather not use the stock pistons again if i dont have to.. Anyone know where I can get a set.. Or.. Anyone know if these will work?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wiseco-9 ... ccessories

Yes obviously its for a 300zx tt... but the piston specs it has seem to be identical... wrist pin diameter... stroke.. bore... I know the compression is lower.. I dunno 100% about the other specs it calls for.. I cant find the rod length anywhere but wouldnt that be how the stroke is determined?
Should I call wiseco n ask em?

Thanks
Eric

oh, just a note to OP
For some reason everyone I talk to about big power ( mostly shops I go around to visit) all swear by Arias or JE Pistons.

Dont know if they are necessarily better, but if so many swear by them I would think they are.

I really dont think that 300zx pistons would fit, that seems like quite a longshot...

Talk to TRDforlife (gabe), he has had a couple of camry motors with a fully built bottom end and would be able to tell you where he sourced some of his parts from the build from.

Im not positive, but I am pretty sure Rizal has a built bottom end on his turbo 1mz as well.

yeah, rizal does too

and personally, I'd go with JE pistons...jsut because of their reputation.

as for building you block.....I presume you're going to go all the way with everything? and if you do, you better go turbo....because keeping the blower with a built engine is a waste of money and potential unless you get your blower cut in half and intercooled

lol

or that. but for the ones of us who wouldn't spray because it's not worth getting our cars taken away if we get pulled over.....go turbo.

but yah...a 150shot with a blower would need a build real good :drinking:

If I was in the market to do the work you want to do, I'd pick up Gabe's engine bro! Already done for you and it's a sound engine! He's the second owner and that thing is a beast! Just do a quick swap, sell the old engine for like $100 and go have fun!
