I know that its never enough, but you must have some type of an actual number in mind? I was just wondering what everyone's goals are for their FI projects....

I'd be hella happy with 250-260whp.

Im shooting for 250 whp in the spring, that would be just about perfect to me... though I souldnt complain about 275-300 whp either :D but i want it to be reliable and driveable, so 250 whp would be great.

Alright this may sound stupid, but you can get more power out of a manual transmission? I thought it was only acceleration. I have an SE that would accelerate faster than my SLE but at top speeds the SLE kicked the SE's ass. I dont know why but thats the way it was. The SE top speed: 120+- & the SLE top speed: 130+-. Both were unmodded.

So if this holds true, how much more power can a manual tranny give to the wheels?

the 5-speed puts down more power because it has approximately 10% less parasitic drain through the drive train than the auto.

The top speed thing would be due to the fact that the gearing for the two transmissions are different. Even in 5th gear, the 5-speed revs higher at the same speed than the auto, so it could be assumed that the top rev-limited top speed on the 5-speed is lower than that of the auto.

BUT in your particular case, I don't see why the SLE would be faster at top speeds since the gearing of the 5-speed is more conducive to the power band of the v6. That, and the speed limiter will kick in long before you hit the rev-limited top speed. Even on my camry I haven't hit the rev-limited top speed, and I've hit over 150mph.

As for my goal- 300whp. Should be doable.

I'm just shy of 300 now. My ultimate goal is 500, but I'll probably settle for 400.
