Rock vs. Windshield

Rock vs. Windshield

Postby anwagbo3000 » Wed Jun 25, 2008 3:46 pm

Man...i was driving down 895 to go to work this morning and on the way while i was driving a rock came and hit my windshield.

It hit on top of the dot matrix to the right, and when i got to work there was no issue, just a small dent where the rock hit, so i figure, well at the least there is no crack.

Just to my freakin luck, i m driving home and i notice that there is a curvy line in my windshield, that was no curvy line, it was a hair freakin line fracture in my windshield.

I do not have any pics because i am to pissed to even care about taking pics, the crack almost looks like a hook.

I called toyota and they estimated it to cost 2000 dollars to fix, phuck....i am so angry man, i just hope that the crack does not get any bigger

Dont call toyota for this, call companies / shops around ur area that do windshield repair/replacement.

I remember for my old camry it was 200 bux to replace the windshield, i doubt a windshield for ur car is 2 grand.

It takes about an hour to replace it. Most windshield shops will do it at home or while your car is at work.

My insurance deductable was $100. Well worth it.

Check with your agent to see what comprehensive coverage you have.

It's a law here in FL, insurance companies have to fix your windshield with no deductible.

Definitely ask your agent. Besides, a windshield would never be covered under a warranty (unless the seal failed or something, not crack from a rock).

LOL...some of the places around here used to advertise that they'd come to you work to fix it and you got a box of steaks

Check your insurance. Replacing my windshield was free if I used a company off their list. The Toyota windshield was WAAAAAAY overpriced.

If it's too $$$$$ then get it to a shop pronto. They'll do a repair for cheap. They drill the ends of the crack and fill with epoxy so you cna barely see it and it won't keep growing.
