Front right tire wear question...

Front right tire wear question...

Postby RDKamikaze » Wed Jul 30, 2008 1:58 pm

I just went to get my tires rotated and balanced today, and I got called out to take a look at them. My rears were fine, with a bit of tread left, but my front ones were to the line. Another thing was that my front right tire was completely bald on the inside wall near the edge, and I'll try to get a picture soon of what it looks like. I've lowered my car 2" and have 18X8.5 rims on there with 225/45R18 Khumo Ecsta SPT tires. I think maybe lowering it could have been the problem, but I'm not sure. Could anybody else please inform me about this? Is it an alignment issue generally, balance, orsome other problem causing my tir to fail prematurely? Thanks a ton!

Sounds like you have some camber issues did you have a shop check the alignment after lowering.

Yes, right after I lowered it I drove to a nearby shop that does our alignment and they re-did it for me. Since then I've had it checked twice, since it's now under warranty with them. I'm probably going to have it checked again today to see if that could be the problem. Maybe they forgot to tighten it all the way after re-adjusting one time?

Agreed - go back and have that alignment checked again! I got a lifetime from Firestone and have mine checked every 4 months or so. Saves $$ on tires!

Yeah, being in college took a toll on my wheels. I should have had Wal-Mart do my rotation and balancing because it's the only thing we've got in small-town Thatcher. If there was a Discount Tire I would be there every other month for a rotation :P . Sad to say it's my first rotation since I got the tires 10k miles ago...
