Toyota Solara Gen I MAFci™ System
Custom Performance Engineering Inc., (cp-e™) is proud to announce the release of its 1999-2001 Toytota Solara MAFci™ system!
The kit comes in two versions: non-tunable and tunable. Each kit is pre-programmed with a base fuel map. The tunable MAFci™ System includes a preset base map but also gives the user the ability to tune the car further and/or to tune for additional upgrades. If the non-tunable version is purchased, it can be upgraded later at a reduced cost.
Both kits include the 3.5 high flow intake, powder coated stardust silver to match the aluminum look of most components found under the hood, and all of its associated plumbing and hardware for installation. Every kit comes with an aFe™ high flow air filter, which is reusable. cp-e™ went to great lengths to find the best filter available, and aFe™ outperformed the competition. Each kit also comes with an MAF Customizer™. The MAF Customizer™ is a piggyback style ECU that allows the user to tune air/fuel ratios. Again, customers can opt for a fully programmable MAF Customizer™ and do their own tuning or simply use the fuel map provided.
The stock Toyota Solara 3.0 is a luxurious car to drive, but engine performance suffers from the stock airbox being a very restricted inlet. The factory plumbing is fraught with restrictions. The Toyota engineering team also had to deal with strict noise restrictions, resulting in even more power robbing intake silencers. cp-e™ set out to develop one of the most potent intake systems for the Solara 3.0. Utilizing our computerized flow bench to perform detailed scientific analysis on the factory system, cp-e™ determined that the factory air box, plumbing, and MAF sensor needed improvement. As a result we decided to use a bigger filter, bigger MAF sensor, and bigger pipes. How much bigger? At 3.5" our MAF housing is almost ¾ of an inch bigger than the stock MAF housing. The cp-e™ pipe eliminates all the additional hose connections that most intake manufacturers need and as a result, looks much cleaner. cp-e™ is always working to provide the cleanest looking kits available, with very noticeable power improvements.
With 1.5 hours of installation time, the Solara 3.0 MAFci™ System offers average gains of 14.7 wheel hp and 15.4 wheel ft lbs, with peak differences of 17.5 wheel hp and 20.1 wheel ft lbs. Please note the dyno graphs, demonstrating cp-e™'s prominent gains across the entire power band. These gains raise the average horsepower, bringing down quarter mile times.
