New Magnaflow Muffler and Fuel Consumption

Just had a Magnaflow (model 14829) muffler installed on my 2000 Lara - replaced the stock one actually. No other mods were done except for a flat K&N air filter. The sound is awesome (will post a vid later), noticed a visible gain on HP and throttle responce, but I also noticed that the car started to take more gas... Before, it was taking around 11 litres per 100 km. It's now closer to 13-14.
Is this normal? Have you experienced this kind of an issue?
Over?! Nothing is over until I decide it is!!!

are you sure you're not just puttin your foot in it more to listen to it more? :D Have you gone through a few tanks of gas or just one? I seriously down a muffler alone will cause fuel consumption to go up like that

This would probably be the only gain just a muffler would give

But seriously the gas mileage is probably from you wanting to hear it more and stepping on the gas or maybe those funny measurement units.

LOL

I'd place my bets that you're putting your foot down on the pedal more. It's easy to make that mistake.

I'd say if you want to measure more accurately, you can get a ScanGaugeII to help.

Could be a lot of things really. Give it some more time. I bet with some time you'll realize it's not as much difference as you thought.
