CUSTOM EXHAUST PIPING PRICE?

CUSTOM EXHAUST PIPING PRICE?

Postby M_ABILLONES » Wed May 07, 2008 8:00 am

I went to a performance shop here in Mountainside, NJ for a custom 2.5" catless catback piping and they are charging me $650 for the set up. Is that too much?

Also, is there something I can use to paint the piping to prevent rusting and corroding?

thats way too much.

a shop here can make a full custom catback in any way of your liking ranging from 200-350 at most.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

that is a bit too expensive for a catback. Jeff's price is a lot closer to what you should be paying. They sell high temp paint and coating that you could spray the exhaust with to prevent rusting. good luck!

and do you guys spray something or paint something on the piping to prevent rust and corrosion?

I thought that 650 is way too high...a friend of mine recommended me to the shop so i thought I'd check it out!

Once i go catless I'm going to buy a CEL Fix right?

For 650 it damn well better be stainless steel so it will never corrode.

For non stainless go alumnised with some 1200 degree paint. Also clean the pipe really well first with acetone or something similar.

In Queens? Where in Queens? I'm about an hour away from that area. I used to buy all my JDM stuff for my WRX @ Fizz Autosports. For $60 does that come with the rust/corrosion protection already?

Also, this custom piping will fit with the JPP Headers & Catless Y-Pipe?

Thanks,

Mark
