Postby DrLove » Sun Dec 23, 2007 1:35 pm

I would like to know the model and the pinout of the flasher relay. I want an electronic one (for LEDs). I used the "SEARCH" button but no answer yet about that!

I guess that some guys here did it, so please link me where to buy it and what's the model that I need for my 99 solara

thanks.

:o thanks buddy!

but it's not very easy to see what's the right relay for a solara 99..I guess it's the "EP35" I see the same modem name on autolumination.com I guess it's the good one. The relay must be under the steering... a tutorial or something better would be appreciate from people who did it to help us..

Yep you want an EP35, Tridon makes them as well as others. DO NOT get it from autolumination, when you can get it from your local auto parts store for nearly half that price. Plus if it's a bad relay then you'd have to mail it back versus going back to the local store. Finding it to replace is easy turn on your blinker and listen under your dash above the driver foot rest. There is no need to remove any trim panels either. It is the square one closest to the door opening.

I finally received the 1,5 watts LED (3157)...but this sh** don't fit well!! I need to push it hard and it's not working fine... so for now I will wait..here it's freezing, so I can't spend hours on that! But with the smoke taillights that I bought from LatinUSMC, I will be able to open my stock taillights, and I will probably try a complete superflux LED conversion. I need o find cheap PCB and solder all.. and buy some expensive superflux LED .... I don't know if I want to spend that much money and time for this. Im sure it will be nice, but I don't know if I want to put all this money on it!

I would need

50 RED LED
25 Yellow LED
25 White LED

Superflux are expensive! But they light so well... the new honda accord has this (and many other cars)...

But mine would not have the round shape for each LED..so it will look less great I think...

thanks bro!

I will use the altezza tint taillight that you will ship me for a while, and I will be able to play on the stock taillights.

I studied in electronic, so for me it's not hard to calculate current, solder and built a PWM circuit (I know that lot of people do it in PWM, I guess that it's easier to control the current of LED, because depends of the battery,it can go from 12,2V to 16V, so lots of impact on LED..

I would use a 9V regulator I think.. more stable and less tuning. But depends how cheap I will find the superflux. 2 Months ago I found 1200 superflux RED for $70, about the same price of 120 LED from other sellers..I didn't buy it, Im stupid hehe.

But for now I will wait your pics and taillight LatinUSMC!

On a side note and not to thread-jack, but is the new relay more silent? I usually like a luxury car look-and-feel, and I've been in cars where it's barely audible, whereas my car and a few other Camrys/Solaras that I've been in is a back-seat-driver's DREAM!

Sorry NeFaRiOuS I can't remember how loud the factory relay was!! I think the electronic one is quieter because it's electronic and not mechanical plus I can't ever hear it over my stereo anyway!!! LOL
