1. I wouldnt say there are all of the answers to this question on the forum already.

2. Asking questions is better than doing it with no idea what youre doing.

3. They arent that difficult to find if you have the money.

I would say you need to take a serious look at the condition of your engine and transmission. Do a compression and leakdown test. Also consider upgrading your brakes, suspension, and exhaust as a part of the supercharger install and make a decision from there. The timing belt is also something to consider. Have your engine checked out in detail with a skilled mechanic and work from there.

I believe King (Eye8piussies) is boosted with high mileage on his gen 3 camry and is still running strong- its all about maintenance and the condition your motor is currently in.

Good luck!

I just had the tranny fluid changed... the guy was suprised how clean it was before he changed it... I usually change my oil at 4,000 KM, just because I push the car very often. I flush out the engine pretty often.
So one other question, anyone know any good guys that can check my engine for the S/C? and also approx price range on these tests?

you can do a compression test yourself with a kit for about 25 bucks- that will tell you a lot of what you need to know. How long have you owned the car? Just take into consideration your maintenance records and when things have been changed- have the necessary maintenance tasks been kept up to date with mileage?

I would almost kill to have my Gen 2 boosted...I would say go for it but like some guys here said do the basics before :

- Cylinder compression test (do it when the engine is cold be cause the tool is in steel and your engine block in aluminum...it can strip your spark plug inlet if the engine is hot)

- Check your or change your timing belt

- Check for any leak before boosting it even low boost

Beside basic check up I don't see anything wrong. Also, you'll always find someone to buy a TRD SC on here, toyotanation or ebay. So the risk is decreased if you don't want it anymore !

I test drove my friend GTI (told me I was the only who test drive his car the way should be tested...) and I loved the boost of the turbo. This turbo setup react just like a SC. Very quick boost (1800 RPM) almost top power at 2400 RPM to the end ! The best for you would be to test drove a car with a low boost turbo or SC.

I say YES !
