Short ram intake

Postby ToyoSolV6 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:49 pm

OBX fitment sucks balls.

might as well get the ebay intake for the same price. Injen has a small bend and lets the intake sit properly and not let the coupler fall off of the throttle body. I had the same problem.

and no its not a cold air. It is a short ram, if you want a nice tone go with OBX, and if you go for smog just put the stock one back in. Doesnt take more than 10 mins.

The difference that makes the OBX better then the ebay is the 2.5 inch pipe vs the 3 inch pipe. One works the other does not.

^ Not mine I believe it is ASG14's there is a shitload of info on the OBX intake on the board have you tried the search function yet? Personally I run CPE because it is the best but it is an investment. The OBS should be as good as the injen with a proper filter

The Injen is A LOT better than the OBX, the OBX is more of a noise maker. The Injen is noise and power. the CPE is the most power, and i havent heard about noise. i LOVE my Injen, after it I wouldnt even consider another brand (and i currently own 4 cars that all have intakes, the Injen is definitely the best out of them all, and the one on the Yukon costed twice as much...)

So you have both the Injen and the OBX on your cars?

What is different between the Injen and the OBX that makes the OBX just a "noise maker"? From what I gathered, they're basically exactly the same. After all, the Injen is a metal tube with a few holes and a slight bend. Kinda hard to mess that up unless the OBX somehow restricts air more which I can't imagine it does.

I have gathered from forums that OBX isnt as good as quality... if you look at pictures of the 2 the OBX looks like crap (no offense to anyone that has it, its better than stock)

I have 7 cars total, but the ones with the intakes are: 2008 Yukon with a GM performance parts CAI, 2008 Pathfinder with K&N CAI, DeLorean with a DMC Performance CAI, and of course the Solara with the Injen.

why would you get a temporary mod? don't skimp out on engine upgrades. just save up till you have enough to do something worthwhile.

They are your family's.Stop referring them as all yours. That gets annoying. And just go for the injen honestly.Easiest investment on intakes. And no it is not a personal attack,I just see him in almost every post saying they are his cars and whatever else just gets annoying people trying to brag.
