anyone has any idea what an exhaust system sounds like with a stock muffler... but aftermarket y-pipe with no catylic converter?

Its not a fart can I promise you that. Search on Youtube for my dyno sessions and all Youll see how it sounds. :)

It mellows out your own exhaust sounds. To me it puts the sounds more towards the center of the car rather the exhaust tips. Sounds beastly and its actually pretty quiet until you WOT it then its like a V8 to me.

I would post up vids of my car but my computer recently crashed.

I can't be too sure that this is a pre-cat until someone else chimes in:

Honestly, that's way too much work to swap both headers for the y-pipe, the work:payoff ratio isn't high enough.

If I were to do the headers, it would have to be for performance headers, not just stock to stock.

But for everyone though, I hope my picture will help you in determining what you have.

Extra thought from me: it appears that everyone on the buy list has a gen 1 (except for 2 people). So I'm wondering, is this extra cat a gen 1.5 thing, a So-Cal thing, or a combination of both. Hmmm...
