i need advice on new rotors and pads

I have no brake dust from my ceramics. A lot of people claim the difference from the high dollar brakes but I have yet to meet anyone testing them back to back only replacing a worn set. I have also yet to see actual numbers proving braking with expensive vs OEM is any different. Slots and drill are for nothing more than show on the street. Get a decent set of blank rotors and some good ceramic pads the rest is nothing more than bragging rights unless you are actually at an autox event. With a one time panic stop the extra cooling effects of drilled should be negligible compared to blanks unless you are constantly about to rear end someone every 10 seconds or so. After putting approx 80k miles with brembo blanks, hawk pads , brembo blanks and ebs red pads brembo drilled with both above pads and the duralast blanks with ceramic pads. There seems to be very little difference except the brembo drilled rotors warped very quickly.

A motorcycle is another story all together but not one for this board.

I completely agree that drilled and slotted is all for show. In fact, I have read a lot about it it has been proven that even if it does vent pad gasses, dust and debris, or lower temperatures it also takes away valuable surface area which cancels out the benefits. I think the most valuable aspect to look for in rotors is the cryo treating. Cryo treating inhibits internal oxidation and reduces the chance of thermal fatigue that would cause cracking or warping.

About Hawk pads...I have never used them but have always heard very good things. EBC pads have just been very good to me.

Actually drilled is really for show, they don't last long at all.
I've had a set of Brembo drilled, didn't last very long at all.
So i got slotted ones from DBA, and they were really good until my driver calipers locked up on the calipers......
Then i got the PowerSlot cryo-ed slotted since the DBA 4000 were on back ordered.....
The PowerSlot's are holdin' up good for me.

EBC Green or Red, pretty much any Supra TT rotor, and the caliper relocation bracket. Makes all the difference in Solara braking. Add stainless lines and Gen3 twin-pot calipers, and you've got how they should come OEM, especially if S/Ced.

Exactly what I'm running, with Goodrich lines. I've had both the reds and greens and cant go wrong either way.

^Nice! I bought akora/Ryan's Goodridge lines, and am just waiting on the funds to rebuild/paint my twin pistons. Great to hear another person with the same setup and happy with it.

I have PowerSlot cryo'ed slotted rotors, Goodrich SS brake lines, and Hawk HPS pads.
My twin piston calipers are powder coated Brembo brake red.

I love my brake setup right now.
Need to get some OEM rear calipers and powder coat them Brembo brake red and rebuild them, and get some rear brake pads.

Beautiful brakes Sleeper! What did you pay for the front calipers to get powder coated? Did they dissemble them for you or did you have to? Also, how are the rotors holding up vs corrosion? Are they nickel or zinc coated for protection?

Thanks man.
I think it paid $90 for both??
I can't remember....
It was a friend who did them, 2 coats of red powder and 2 coats on clear.
The friend was OCD. lol.
When i was goin' to a vo-tech school, i had them take out the pistons, and bought a rebuild kit.
The rotors are holdin' up good.
