Good gains from safc tuning. You must have been really lean up top.

Werd... I stand corrected on this particular situation too it seems. May be because with intake and exhaust, the motor was breathing better at high rpms and running lean, which resulted in retarded timing. Sounds like you're back at the power level that you should be at now, so a worthy investment for sure. In most situations though, an safc will do pretty much nothing on an NA tune. back when I was auto and NA I put down 158whp untuned with a perfect afr as controlled by the ecu.

It's be great to see the graphs though, to recognize where your motor began detecting knock up top.

jetbtkng wrote:an safc is really for us sc'ed guys, on an na car i dont think its going to do much, do you have headers, bigger fuel injectors, & your an auto, if your truly at 151hp, i think 3-5 hp gain, imo, but what the hell do i know, im an old senile, pot smoking semi drunk, lol.............. :drinking:

just a question for me since we are talking about safc.. well i got the neo(havnt installed it yet).. could i expect any gains from it? with cpe, obx headers, and megan racing catback exhaust(no cat only resonators)?? or shall i just install it when im charged?

when i got it dyno'd the first time.. they said i was running lean..

and sorry if i kinda jacked the post

I'd think it has the potential to help you whether your N/A or not. Besides, couldn't hurt to get it installed while your N/A, even if it doesn't help, right?

But I'm not experienced with the SAFC. That's just what i think I know from the research i've been doing since I'm getting an SAFC II soon.

I'm sure there are lots of other ppl on here who can give you a better idea.

might have to call BS. you claim power gain... if so, a dyno sheet isnt too much to ask. just to verify for others considering the same upgrade.
