except the downside is that you need to know how to weld, or trust someone enough to take apart your solara and do the custom job the right way the first time.

I believe the car they use to dyno was a s/c 5 speed.

I have the JIC on my car, and it's lasted a long time 50k miles w/o any problems. It has a good exhaust note that, once I get a better camcorder, I'll record someday. The only downside of the JIC is the price. I bought mine cheaper 5-6 years ago than it's going for now b/c there was more competition perhaps.
I read forums more than I talk. /shame

I have the TRD Axel Back. I love it. Its got a deep manly rumble to it, it doesn't drone ridiculously. As long as you don't take your resonater.

Im definitely leaning toward the TRD Axel Back, that being the cheapest, easiest, and good sounding solution. Everyhting under my hood though is stock, no intake or anything. Will the exhaust sound better with an intake? Should I invest in one? Anything custom I could do after I install the TRD muffler to make it louder or sound better?

Make a custom single resonator 2.5 inch pipe catback very easy.
