i think brembo blanks are good, thats what ill be getting soon. im running some bs Wagner or something like that, they are the upgraded lifetime warranty ones at advance auto, they are warped pretty bad and they rust bad and look like hell, i think i've heard someone say that the brembo rotors have a rust proof coating. none of the info i have on brembo is from personal experience, but based on what ive heard/read ill be buying brembo rotors soon.

I'm runnin' Hawk HPS front pads wit Cryo'ed slotted front rotors.
For the rear i'm runnin' DBA slotted rotors wit some Duralast brake pads.
Will be changin' the pads and rear calipers soon.

I've read the reviews about the Brembo blanks and they don't seem to be the rotors of choice. A majority stated that after about a week they start to rust pretty badd and warp over a short period of time. Ironically enough, the ones who had the worst review for the Brembo blanks were Toyota owners. They say, if you decide on the Brembo blanks that it's better to stick with OEM rotors from the dealership.

This is my favorite brake source.

http://stores.ebay.com/R1Concepts

I put the premiums on the fronts and less than premium on the rears and they still are round after two years of mountainous driving and heavy hauling. Never used buy it now and always best offer.

The best in my opinion.

search this site for info on the brembo rotors.
you'll find real experience of people with a camry/solara.

you'll find info like:
"Been on my brembo blanks for about 2 years now, no maintenance."
at viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27064&hilit=brembo+blanks+warp
in this thread someone has also said that the brembo's will rust, so i may have been wrong about the rust proof coating, but i still think i read they had a rust proof coating somewhere.

Edit: i know brembo's are not the best, just worth looking into when doing price checks.

If you cant justify spending $137 on each rotor these are quite a bit less and still very nice. They just arent Cryo treated, and may not last quite as long.

I have had great luck with duralast gold ceramic pads and rotors. And they give me new ones for free every 2 years when they wear out (rotors 2 year warranty). I run them on the solara and camry. Maybe some people need more or think that they are track drivers on the road but in real life road conditions they work great.

I just have been amazed at the lack of brake dust I had when using EBC red stuff pads, but more importantly, you will NEVER appreciate your high dollar brake components until that one instant that if you didn't have them, you would have been in the back of a big rig at 65 mph. Personally I don't spend big bucks on brakes because I want to be able to stop fast, I do it because sometimes I *NEED* to be able to. You don't have to be a track driver to appreciate them then.

My Solara is the first vehicle I have owned with 4 wheel disc brakes. I can't wait to upgrade them. I have just been waiting for a good excuse to do so. It's about that time!
