1. How much HP increase would headers like the OBX Headers Manifold traditionally give?

2. How much HP increase would an exhaust cat back system like the one in the link normally give?

^^don't know if someone has purchased the OBX headers, I know there was a thread about it, but I'm not sure if someone has actually bought them and tried them out....you could be the first....but since no one has posted numbers after adding them, I'd look at the design of them and I'd say maybe an increase of 10-15.

Your catback is a 3"....typically that's only suggested for a forced induction car, and there's plenty of threads on which is better, 2.5 v. 3" for a FI car, but if your stock....I'd stay away from 3 and find one that's 2.5"

^^ he's FI, so depending on how much boost he wants to push, he may want the 3".

what i think (and i'm speaking purely out of conjecture and speculation), is that it'll generally improve your exhaust scavenging ability, if you're still stock in that department.

i am not currently aware of anyone who has already gotten the obx or the generic catback, but i know that we have recently discovered its existance. you should get them both, and do some dyno runs before and after to see the improvement(s).

also, you may want to post again in the FI section (or have the mods move this thread), since you're talking about different levels of power gains from all the NA guys. also, those who are in the FI club would probably be able to give you a better idea of what bases you should cover if you're planning on getting more power (i.e. if you need to retune anything, if there's a limit to how many horses you can eek out, if the exhaust system really is your limiting factor for power rather than engine internals or fuel delivery systems).

but my common sense tells me that, all other things being equal, that aftermarket system will outperform stock, even if it's only slightly. just make sure that all the welds look good.

and i take it back, i remember that midias got the obx exhaust (i think it was the exhaust and not the headers), but he only kept in on his car for like 2 months (this being the reason i suspect it was the catback, not the headers). PM him and see what he thinks. he seems to know quite a bit about our exhaust options, even though he's only been running his solara NA.

hope that helps.

Yup I had the OBX exhaust it was not bad at all. I am thinking of getting the OBX headers and modding them for a highflow cat but I am waiting for someone else to test fit them. The reason I ditched the OBX exhaust in favor of my current custom setup was 3 inch piping was just too big for NA and probably for anything under 5psi. I know dats super solara was still running 2.5 no prob. Either way here is a link to my OBX thread I did like the exhaust if not for the 3 inch piping I would have probably kept it.
