If any is using those injectors or something similar please let me know which O-rings you used for the area that sits in the lower intake manifold. on the lime-tops there isn't a groove where the O-ring would stay put. This is only a temporary setup. Also plan to just cap off the air-assist on the lower intake manifold.

I plan to get a Vipec standalone and 650CC injectors when the funding allows. I have read a few threads saying under the 400cc range is pig rich. maybe true but I do plan to sell my SC kit and just go turbo using a turbo somewhere between the GT35r and the GT42r.

My motor is already completely built from forged pistons, rods, cams, valves, valve springs, complete race ported head with 5 angle valve job, reshaped bowls, etc. its just lacking the fueling portion right now. The motor doesn't even have a single mile on it yet since the build.

I might have missed something but thanks in advance for the help. If you guys are interested in seeing part of the build here's some links

which o-ring area are you talking about specifically?

also, are you sure that your system is running enough pressure to cap off the air-assist?

props to ditching the blower though, in favor of a big turbo setup. I'm not a big fan of a turbo setup on an unbuilt 1mz, since you're basically waiting for it to blow, but for a built 1mz, the supercharger is basically a waste of time.

see how the stock injector has an O-ring and a groove to hold the oring there on the bottom one. on the lime tops its straight down. no groove to keep the O-ring in place.

thanks for the props

btw.. the injector (lime top) is about 2-3mm shorter than the stock injectors so all i need to do is shave down the fuel rail plastic spacer. only issue I need to figure out is that O-ring one and I can start breaking in the motor without worrying too much about running lean.

hmm after doing a little reading I think I'll just give these injectors back since I got them for free anyways.. time to go hunt down some bigger ones in the 400cc + range.

^ that may be your best bet...

BUT...take a look at this thread that I posted before about injectors:
http://solaraguy.com/viewtopic.php?t=39 ... =injectors

so similar to the 2jz redtops, you may not need the lower o-ring at all as long as you can get a grommet on it and the end of the injector doesn't extend too far

so anyways.. i went to my toyota parts guy and luckily they had the grommet in stock. I purchased a set and got home to test fit it. it sits a tiny bit taller with the grommet on so all I did was go through my assortment of washers till I found the one that would fit right and give the grommet on the bottom a tiny squish so that it's sealed. not too tight and not too loose.

I looked at the flow rate of the supra NA injectors and the part number: 23250-46050 is very similar to these lime tops. so I said why bother killing myself trying to look for them.

what I should try to find that would be better would be these lime tops from a 3SGE 3rd gen at 372CC rating

heh maybe.. but this is mainly just to drive around for now on stock boost. I just needed a little more fuel to compensate for the cams and headwork. It runs a ton better now and boy do those cams sound GOOD! I might even put its first mile(s) on the motor tomorrow.

I suppose once the motor is broken in, funding for the standalone and possibly 650-800cc injectors would come to play soon after.

eye8pussies:
the cams were custom reground set. I went through a toyota v6 specialist shop up north in british columbia. The shop is called sea2sky tuning. They sent the cams to some other shop to get the cams reground and treated to reharden the metal. My camshafts came back black.

if you contact the shop. tell him Darren referred you.

Midias:
thanks for the compliments. yea my MR2 does give quite a bit of kick :D

Re: injectors solution using 7mge lime tops

sorry to bring back an old thread but just means that another related problem came back.. the injector grommet wasn't holding up. The lower grommet that I used last time deformed.. on the air assist port where the injector sits. the grommet seemed like it was getting sucked into the air assist air channel. The air assist ports are capped off. I guess my next step is to seal up those air assist ports so I it'll be just a circle and get new lower injector grommets.

btw.. lime top injectors are 312cc @ 3bar. I keep seeing other threads saying they are 330cc or 320cc.. would be better to post the correct info instead of just exaggerate.

Sorry I'm late but the lime green injectors are a direct bolt on, just go to kragens and buy the supra injector seal kit, I had these on miltons 1mz/3mz hybrid motor and now those are on franks 300plus hp solara(jetbtkng)
