Ebay Headers, good or bad? ill show you the dyno results!

Okay so, im the sucker on the board that seems to be the only one with a fckn cali spec car that has pre-cats on the headers. My dyno was at 174whp and 185 torque with safcII tuning.

now, i have made a deal with a member on this board that has the ebay headers/ypipe, and i will be recieving them early next week.

My Dyno charts withought the headers have already been posted, and after i get them installed i will be taking the car to the same dyno shop and i will hopefully...bring back good results.

Stay tuned! :D

By "made a deal" with this guy, you did be sure to include "If these headers do not perform as advertised, I have every right to throw them back at your car's front window and recieve a return on my lost investment" right?

Be sure to post dyno results. I'm actually interested in seeing if SOMETHING from ebay actually performs well!

I guess we'll see. I don't think it'll perform any different.

You are going to use the y-pipe right? I believe your stock y-pipe is different, since your stock header was longer.

Its cool your going to do that.. But take into consideration your dyno numbers wont do much good unless your car is running right to start off with.

I would also like to mention.... I have seen one crack already. Same company, V6, on a accord with almost same desgin. The car is also supercharged.

I gurrantee youll get some gains, but cheap gains results in early destruction for my friends accord.

I'm sure that you'll get better numbers than you've got right now due to the lack of an extra cat...but as others have said, can't really compare that to a stock header w/ no cat.

But as long as your car runs right, then it's all good!

And meh...if it cracks, buy a new one for a couple hundred bucks...lol

People needs to understand that a precat does not drop HP that much. His numbers is due to something going on, not his precat. No way a precat can restrict 30+whp unless his cat are really clog which means his motor has to be bad enough to clog it.

Throwing headers on doenst solve a problem, its a waste of money and more headache to trying to find whats wrong with the car rather modding it hoping it will work out clean. Im not saying it because I made the Datsrpipe and hate the ebay pipes, Im saying it because Ive been reading his last few post and all he seems to be doing is modding rather trouble shooting. A car without a CEL doesnt mean its running fine. For all I know I remember he telling me how he wired his EBC with a different model setup. Maybe he fried his ECU.

Dont rush into just buying something because you read its restrictive. Trouble shoot the car (even if it takes years, thats why its call dedication, R&D, and learning) until you find whats wrong.

Also just putting stuff on your car and tuning it every time is a huge waste of money. I wouldnt be suprise if in the end you spent enough money to buy a JP exhaust system. The most your precat will restrict is maybe 1-7whp. anymore then that on a 1mZ will say your cat was F up to start with.. but you didnt know that. You just modded it thinking your car is fine to start off with.

And the term as long it runs right its all good... Sure good you fixed it, but how did it happen in the first place? I wouldnt be able to live with as long it runs right Im happy.. When I had my solara it was, how is it running and what can i do to gurrantee it. My money was well spented and I loved my solara til I parted it partially to sell it. I dont regret spending the money I spent to know my car inside out.

Dont rush things because someone said its a good idea. I made that mistake. I dont care even if the worlds pro solara owner tells you to do this or that.. Welcome to the world of modding.

Good luck with your update tune. Like I say you will get some good gains even on ebay headers. But I feel like your rushing it and that you have no clue what your doing other then modding and hoping it comes out good. No top dog solara owner are always right. Not even me. Maybe youll be lucky, but I rather know fact then luck. Fact is knowledge while luck are just.... luck. Luckers in the end will craw to the fact for answers.

SOrry everyone for the long post. Havnt post much but I read everyones post every day. Im typing this on 3 hours of sleep ^_^
