eBay headers, opinions

I haven't seen the gains from a cat back exhaust. I would like to see them on an unmodified car. And yes, I have seen the size of the stock exhaust system and it is perfectly fine. If you go up in size without modifications to merit it, you might see some gains at the high end but you should see losses at the low end. Too many people think that bigger is better and it's not always true.

I've been looking around for the gains from doing a cat-back. I haven't found them yet, but I did find this:

def true on losing torque, i don't know either but i have the high flow jpp headers, high flow y, high flow cat, and catback and i lost a LOT of torque but the top end is ridiculous. it feels like the car kinda hits "vtec" around 3500, you literally feel a difference in power and what i listed is all i got, so really if u plan on racing people, try and do it from a roll!

Seems to agree with me.

Typically there isn't that much to be gained with exhaust alone, so if there are large gains from doing this, I'm guessing that the person probably had other mods as well.

If you find them, let me know, I would like to see them.

Thanks for the input everyone. Because this is my wife's car and I need it back together, I probably won't get any headers at all, but if I did, I would prefer something that just bolted in without modification. I want to spend my modification time on my own car! :D

have you actually seen the size of our stock piping????

I agree.
OEM = 2.25"
OBX = 2.5"

Even my Greddy Evo catback exhaust is 2.5", way better than the OEM exhaust sizin'.

Never seen an obx 2.5" and greddy is 2.36
