I have a Gen 1 lara v6 no modifications yet. maybe a cool air intake later this year. Im interested in updating the cars computer in order to increase performance. What is the best method to do this? and/or is it even possible?

no need to update the computer if you dont have any mods.
Start with an intake CP-E or Injen.
Then maybe a supercharger & headers, SAFC.
If your not broke by now then swap in a manual tranny.

The point is that your gona need some mods to have any reason to update the ECU.

So without modifications there isn't any reason to technically update the cars computer b/c its all the same?

unless you throw off the temp sensor with a cheap resistor right? i read about that online.

I finally saw a super charged lara about a month ago, I almost wet my pants just watching it move down the highway f-in i could see it shifting up in gears. I'm on one on the road knew who the mfg was b/c the dude took all the emblems off and of course had it dropped.

Don't do that.

A CPE intake will update your computer Via Piggyback and can be tunable. you can also get an safc or an apexi neo to tune but it probably wont get you much without any mods.

Just stay away from Ebay brand intakes. Stick with OBX for the cheap end , injen for middle of the road and CPE for top of the line. OBX is about the same as injen but the filter sucks.

Know any good posts specifically for the lara gen1 so I can read up about all this before deciding which mfg to go with?
