TRD Sport Muffler?

TRD Sport Muffler?

Postby Bluesolaradude11 » Mon Jun 29, 2009 3:45 pm

Hey guys, I have a 1999 Solara SLE V6, I just started moding it so far i have the Injen SRI w/the extension to convert it to a CAI, HID Kit at 6000k, custom fog lights, and shaved emblems, my nxt couple of mods r going 2 b lowering, and tints. But after that I want a deeper sounding muffler I like the TRD sport muffler but i was watching videos on youtube and their seems like theirs a diffference in the sound of the mufflers between 1999-2003 and the 2004-present muffler, is their something different? If so , would the 2004-present muffler fit my 1999 solara w/out getting it wellded? Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I dont think the Gen 2 muffler would fit the Gen 1. Why not just get a Gen 1 TRD muffler.

You could probably get a shop to get it to fit on there but I think it would require a bit of welding n fab. You should post pics of your car.

Have you look at other muffler that available for the solara? Greddy, Apex, etc

The Greddy has a pretty nice tone to it.

Both mufflers for the gen 1 and 2 are designed similar. Could the difference in tone be the engine and not the actual muffler?

Could it be because they have different engines?

I have videos here with my wife who does not realize she should NOT talk while recording. There are videos of my 2 custom trd exhausts and the OBX. Also there are vids and pictures on my signature line.

Nice vids but I think hes wanting more of the Bolt-On TRD muffler sound.

Here are some more. The are not my videos. If I am not mistaken they are Solarizona's videos.

Both discontinued. Still don't know why people are not getting that.
