*yawn*
i've been wanting to see a solara blow up for a while now. why don't you get a chip and a videorecorder and entertain us.
seriously though, chipping the solara is about as useful as hitting yourself in the junk.
the stock ecu can handle most bolt on mods, and when you are putting out more power than your stock ecu can handle, then you're gonna want to have it tuned at a shop, with a A/F controller (like an AFC neo or SAFC-II or AEM piggyback module).
or you can just pull your stock ecu out, ship it to jet, and have them 're-tune' for your stock setup.
the only person i heard of that 'chipped' their car was paladin06greg, who is quoted above in his letter back to Jet, and by no means is your solara ANYWHERE NEAR what his was (power-wise). that little laundry list of mods he had done is misleading, as that list only looks to be about $4,500 worth of mods, and i'm pretty sure he ended up doing around $10k+ worth of mods by the end of his solara days.
bottom line: to mod a solara in a worthwhile fashion, you're gonna have to drop some serious cash. there aren't any cheap shortcuts like 'chipping' it to unlock some more power. why don't you just buy a TRD supercharger? that's much more reliable and guarenteed to net a power gain.
or you could always put nitrous onto the car.
but i still suggest you get the chip and videorecorder. we need a visual example of why we don't do silly things like 'chip' our cars, for when the next person asks.
