Anyone know what I'm referring to in the pic below?

I've been talking with unbalancedwood (adam) about the hook-up of the cp-e, and we noticed that he doesn't have this unit. We are both gen 1 v6. I'm manual...not sure about adam?

BTW, since the pic I have replaced the hose running from the unit to the cp-e with a new w/o a kink. :)

I AM AUTO.
I dont have that unit, so my hose goes directly from the lower metal pipe to the CPe.

(ill take a picture today)

Mine doesn't look like that either and i'm Auto. Mine goes straight to the CP-E like Adam said.

Well, it appears we've narrowed down this unit to only manual transmissions. I've searched the repair manuals and found nothing. Somebody has to know!

akora maybe you should email this picture to cpe and maybe they can make an addition page to their manuals...i cant see how they havent gotten any calls about this though. cause the manual does not show a unit like yours, and when they did the R&D on it they used that red auto gen1...

I guess I was not paying attention to the manual or I might have been use to my old CAI because I just hooked the damn thing up and did not think about it.

Good idea. I'm going to e-mail Josh at cp-e and notify him about this. I guess everyone w/ manual solaras has just installed the OEM hose and not thought twice about it. I'll post up what Josh tells me. Maybe they will know what the unit is!

I used the hose they gave me but I had to clamp it well. But I don't care it works fine.

An update for all of those interested:

I notified Josh at cp-e and they are going to revise the installation instructions to address manual solaras as well. He didn't provide an answer to what the unit is, though. Maybe someone will eventually identify it, but for now it's a mystery.
