Exhuast problemo!!!

HEY u guys so today i was driving my car and i notice that when shoot of the line. i get sum hesitation and worse of all i hear and feel the exhaust like choking. what i mean by choking is that it sounds like all nasty like mouth lips flaping. and im not getting all my hoarse power of my 4 cylinder 2000 lara.

i dont know think sumthing i wrong with the exhuast.

Sounds like a misfire. D-money's right check your plugs or plug wires.

^ lol it does!!!! but i changed my spark pluges and its a little better i see that i got more torque and found that cylinder # 4 was dead an now its working fine but i still feel and hear that WRX exhuast (choking sound). When i floor the gas pedal i get straight choking from the exausht. but when i start as light on the gas then i floor it its fine un till i get to like 50 mgh then thats when i dont get as much power to get up to higher speeds. I mean ill get to sixty and higher but it while take a little while.

Now that you changed the plugs, shouldn't you replace the wires too?

i dont know your set up but it could be your intake if it is not your wires.if you are using an oiled filter you may need to clean your MAF meeter hope this will help

I think no MAF in the 00 4cyl solara. I would bet clogged cat or misfire. Any engine light or odd smells.

my car had the egg smell too i took it to ezlube and had them do an intake cleaning. smell is gone now horsepower restored

If you were dumping fuel into the down pipe you could have clogged your converter.

Im going to get the wires repalced. and i dont smell any eggs tho.But i think my problem does have to do with my intake becaise when i pop da hood i hear the intake gsping from time no time then the enginge jurks.

5 bux says the problem will go away when you replace the wires. I had the same problem with my old cavalier, sounded like a wrx, sure as hell didn't pull like one haha. Replaced them and it ran fine
