Yet another new guy!

Hello everyone. New guy here from Northern California. I just bought a 1999 Solara SE 6 speed with 90,000 miles. I got a great deal on the car and am excited to have it. To be honest, I was a little down after car shopping for a few weeks. I thought that I wouldn't be able to get anything nice in my price range. The very last car I was going to look at before going to a dealer and getting a brand new car was the Solara. It was perfect.

I am a single father of a 4 year old little girl. She calls it her racing car. I love how there is plenty of room in the back for her. Our last car was a 1997 Nissan Maxima. It was a great car too, but after 3 accidents(thanks to the ex-wife) it had seen better days.

The car had an aftermarket muffler and rims on it when I bought it. That usually would scare me away from a car because it screems "Teenager," but everything in the car is perfect and it had complete maint. records. I did have to throw in a K&N filter because the airbox seems choked. It seemed to really open the car up. I didn't want to spring for a full on air intake...yet...

Anyways, other that 3 small dings and a little bit of wear in the paint(hardly noticable unless it is your car) the car is great.

I hope to gain a lot of good knowledge from this site.

Thanks

Welcome to SG, and to correct you above, you mean 5 speed. The Solara/Camry was not offered with a 6 speed (unfortunatly)

w-e-l-c-o-m-e!

As mentioned above... this IS the best board around... even if you don't drive a Solara! HA!

You are now home. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy that "new" car!

PS: I have a 4 year old little girl as well... but my SUPRA is the one all four of my kids refer to as the "race car"! LOL!
