Introducing Myself...

Hi All. I'm new to this forum. I come from the MR2 world. Just bought a 1999 Solara SLE V6 5 Speed 60k miles with TIEN coilovers, 17 in wheels and the TRD stuff on it including body kit and shifter, maybe rear sway bar. It has chrome headers and and injun (?) air intake. I paid $5800. A few things I don't like about it and want to change or fix. I'll need your help sorting it out.

The front tires are 225/45 x17 and the rear tires are 235/45 x 17 a(wheels front and rear are both the same width but I don't know the width) and the inner lip on the rear fender was cut and turned in for clearance. This sucks because the job is not of the most excellent quality. Why wider tires in the back on a FWD car? I want same tires front and rear so I can rotate. Can the fender be fixed or do I need to replace. I want to put 225/45 x17 in the rear. Will these clear in the factory / normal rear wheel well? - Thx in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the board I guess I have a question as well. Why is that engine not sitting in your MR2 right now?

'99 with 60k? Nice. That thing was pampered! (except for the fender hack)

225's will be fine in the back. Pretty sure that was stock for Gen1. I'll be corrected if that's not the case.

by the way if it is indeed the car im talking about... that car isnt a SLE...its a SE 5speed.

real quick way to find out that its not an SLE is u have manual ac/heater controls instead of Automatic/digital

^^ or if you have a 5spd instead of an A/T

SE = 5spd (or A/T)
SLE = A/T (Always)

that is, of course, unless a transmission swap has already been done.
