Hey guys! I'm hoping I can get some help regarding the exact name on a part that went bad. The dealer listed that my Idle Control Valve is faulty. My '99 V6 SE 5spd recently will not stay on idle, when I start it. It starts right up but will die off, so I keep the foot on the gas, which eventually helps the idle stay on point. The idle is steady from there and doesn't fluctuate at all.

Please let me know if anyone knows the correct part name and maybe number too? I Google'd it and looked under genuine parts and did not recognize "Idle Control Valve". Thanks in advance!

Should be the idle air control valve I would get some throttle body cleaner and clean it out really good before buying a new one. Take the throttle body off and spray it down really good clean all the black crap out.

Whoaw... thanks for the tip on cleaning it out first! That price is still expensive, even at Autozone. Btw, it was weird because I typed in IACV on the OEM Toyota parts online stores and it never recognized it - typed out or abbreviated. Hmm, oh well. Thanks again for the feedback!

^ Yea sometimes you get lucky. For my wife's Camry I thought I would have to replace it after trying to clean it with the throttle body still attached. When I too the TB off and cleaned the sensor out and all the passages the car worked normal again.

Hmm... Let me get to cleaning it out first and if that fails I'll definitely consider this. Thanks.
