I have 125,000 on my 99 se v6 5spd and when I really get on it I get a little bit of oil is being burnt. I guess I just wondered if this was just me beating it up to much or if this is normal for the 1mz. It's nothing like a Honda but it is definitely noticeable by other people.

Compression test it. Burning a little oil every now and again is fine, but if it's as constant as you say it is then it's time to do some tests...

I also have a 1999 SE V6 5 speed and have over 188,000 miles now. I burned about 1/2 quart of oil every 5000 miles (i noticed the oil burn since 155,000)

I wouldn't sweat it unless it is consuming 1/2 quart every 1000 miles.

Guess I am lucky I don't seem to burn any at 162k but then again I have never let the oil stay in there long enough to see what I burn in 5000 miles.
